Soil mapping for the SBB: pollutants and neophytes
SBB is planning to use excavated tunnel material for terrain modeling as part of one of its expansion projects. We examined the existing soils in order to clarify the environmental licensability and consequences.
Planning of a terrain change / backfill on an area of around 20 ha for the landfill of tunnel excavation material. The aim of the soil mapping is to determine the existing condition and to define soil protection measures on this basis. In addition, the cubatures are to be derived for the construction process and material logistics. The aim is to clarify the eligibility for approval from a soil protection law perspective and to deal with the soil-specific issues in the project planning phase in a step-by-step and appropriate manner.
