Overall management of the Ovra Solara Magriel alpine PV system

Axpo is planning a ground-mounted photovoltaic system above Disentis at 2,100 meters above sea level. Covering an area of around 100,000 square meters, the alpine solar plant will one day supply 14 GWh of electricity for the mountain railroads of the local ski resort and the region. Our interdisciplinary team is supporting the project as overall manager.

Thanks to its location above the fog, the ground-mounted system will supply valuable winter electricity, especially in the cold months. In order to generate as much electricity as possible throughout the year, the modules, which are attached to steel cables, will be able to adjust their angle of inclination depending on the season. The mountain railroads in the Disentis ski area will be able to cover their entire annual electricity requirements. The existing infrastructure of the winter sports and hiking area allows an efficient connection to the electricity grid. Particular challenges in project planning are the proximity to the local ski slopes and the steep slope. These require sophisticated construction logistics.
