New construction of the Fideriser tunnel

The Rhaetian Railway is relocating a section of track between Jenaz and Küblis to a new single-track Rail Tunnels to make room for the expansion of the motorways. This will also allow the route of the railroad line to be optimized. Basler & Hofmann has been commissioned with the planning of the new tunnel.

The A28 motorways between Jenaz and Küblis in Prättigau, Graubünden, are to be widened. To make room for this in the narrow Landquart valley, a section of the Rhaetian Railway will be relocated to the new Fiderisertunnel. The approximately 1.4-kilometre-long single-track Rail Tunnels runs through a varied geology with rock and loose rock sections and crosses groundwater deposits in the Au water protection area. At the tunnel portals, the railroad line leads directly into engineering structures, which are also being built as part of the overall project. At the east portal towards Küblis, the portal structure merges with the bridge abutment of a new, 200-metre-long bridge and with protective structures against natural hazards

Basler & Hofmann has been commissioned with the planning of the structural works. All structures of the overall project are planned and coordinated in BIM. The BIM coordination of the tunnel is being carried out in close coordination with the neighboring lots on the client's Common Data Environment (CDE).
