Marco Ramoni
Head of Railway Tunnels
Marco Ramoni, who studied Civil Engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich, has advised clients in large-scale projects in cavern and tunnel construction around the world. He joined Basler & Hofmann in 2011 after a period of teaching, research and consulting in underground engineering at ETH Zurich, where he had also received his doctorate in driving operations with tunnel boring machines in squeezing ground. As senior engineer, he manages several challenging projects, such as the RBS underground railway station in Bern and the Västlänken West Link railway project in Sweden. Marco Ramoni has been head of Rail Tunnels since 2015. He also continues to teach underground engineering at ETH Zurich and ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences and to produce numerous publications.
