Hasli/Weiach gravel quarry: general land use plan and EIA

The "Hasli" cross-cantonal gravel extraction area in the municipalities of Weiach (Zurich) and Fisibach (Aargau) covers an area of around 30 hectares. We were commissioned with the planning and preparation of the cantonal general land use plan and the environmental impact report.

ARGE Hasli is planning to excavate around 3 million cubic meters of gravel. The pit is to be refilled with clean excavated material. The sub-area in the canton of Zurich has already been entered in the regional spatial strategies, but not yet in Aargau. As the regional spatial strategies are the legal basis for the general land use plan to be drawn up, this must first be prepared for the Aargau sub-area. We were commissioned to draw up the cantonal general land use plan, which forms the basis for the approval of the project. The central tasks included technical and spatial planning clarifications as well as the preparation of the environmental impact report. More than 15 environmental areas were examined, focusing on noise, air pollution control, groundwater, soil, forest, landscape and archaeology.
