Façade renovation Hardau II, Zurich: Damage surveys
The four striking residential towers of the Hardau II estate have shaped the cityscape of Zurich since their construction between 1976-1978. In order to ensure the continued existence of these architecturally valuable contemporary witnesses for the next forty years, a comprehensive façade renovation is necessary. We have been commissioned by the City of Zurich with the surveying concept and the damage surveys.
The Hardau II site in Zurich, known for its four residential towers up to 95 meters high, is being extensively renovated. The striking façades, consisting of prefabricated concrete elements, were last repaired in 1993 and were derusted and treated with rust inhibitors in 2017. Despite these maintenance measures, a comprehensive redevelopment is required. As it is difficult to carry out the redevelopment with the existing planning basis, we fly the facades of selected buildings with UAVs based on our surveying concept and create detailed orthophotos of the facades in order to localize the smallest damage.
