Surveillance measurements Expansion of baggage sorting system at Zurich Airport

As part of the comprehensive renewal and expansion of the baggage sorting system at Zurich Airport, we have been commissioned to carry out various monitoring measurements.

The baggage sorting system at Zurich Airport is a crucial part of the passenger handling infrastructure and transports around 30,000 pieces of baggage every day. With around 25 kilometers of conveyor track, driven by 5500 motors and monitored by 5600 sensors, the new system ensures that baggage is efficiently and reliably assigned to the right flights. The renewal was necessary because the old system had reached the end of its life cycle and new EU regulations on security checks had to be implemented. is mainly realized underground and during ongoing operation. We are responsible for all monitoring measurements as part of the project. We have joined forces with Amberg Technologies for the implementation.
