Implementation of the Winterthur General Drainage Plan
Basler & Hofmann supports and advises the Winterthur municipal drainage system on the implementation of the General Drainage Plan (GEP). In addition to consulting, the mandate includes updating the sewer system models of the actual and forecast condition as well as the hydraulic design and review of planned measures on the sewer system and special structures.
The wastewater treatment plants in Bauma and Mannenberg (Illnau-Effretikon) will be closed and the municipalities will be connected to Winterthur's drainage system. Basler & Hofmann planned the connections from Tösstal and Kemptthal to the Winterthur sewer system. Some of these connections are made through tunnels and on the surface in areas with challenging traffic conditions, which required particularly careful project planning involving various specialist disciplines.
