Double-track expansion Dorfnest, Kloten: Environmental compatibility and environmental construction support

The Zurich - Winterthur corridor is one of the busiest in Switzerland, partly due to the connection to Zurich Airport. As part of the project, in addition to the double track extension and the overpass structure, signaling measures were also implemented for the 2-minute train headway between Zurich-Oerlikon and Effretikon. In addition, superstructure and substructure renewal work was carried out on the tracks. We accompanied the project as environmental planners from the concept design to commissioning. The environmental impact report and the environmental construction support focused on water pollution control, the assessment of chemical products for construction processes, the monitoring of soil removal and recultivation, the implementation of ecological contingency measures or compensating measures, neophyte control, the handling of artificial fillings as well as air hygiene and noise protection during construction.
