BIM pilot project: Pratteln cycle bridge
A new connecting bridge is being built over the busy Frenkendörferstrasse for the cantonal cycle route between Pratteln and Augst. The cycle and pedestrian bridge was selected by the canton of Basel-Landschaft as a pilot project for the use of BIM in civil engineering. Basler & Hofmann was responsible for project management during the planning phase at TU and was responsible for BIM management, coordination and training.

As part of the total contractor mandate, Basler & Hofmann was commissioned with the execution planning for the BIM pilot project, thus laying the foundations for a completely model-based implementation. Prior to the execution planning, a project optimization was planned and implemented with extensive pipeline relocations. The bridge structure consists of in-situ concrete abutments, two prefabricated prestressed concrete girders and prefabricated roadway slabs with concrete overlays.
