For the school space planning, we prepared class size forecasts and determined the space requirements on the basis of a standardized pedagogical concept. This enabled us to demonstrate a reduced future space requirement compared to the municipality's own assumptions. We developed three renewal and expansion strategies of varying intensity, which offered the municipality a range of possible solutions. The municipality decided to have the final decision accompanied by a public opinion-forming process among the parliamentary groups. In this way, the municipality of Düdingen found its own, consensual and tailor-made solution for its school properties.
