Lake heating network: energy concept and feasibility study

Basler & Hofmann used an energy concept to examine an energy network with renewable energy sources for several municipal properties and carried out a feasibility study for a lake heating network, from discussions with potential customers and profitability calculations to the development of the heat generation and distribution concept.

On behalf of the city of Wädenswil and the Wädenswil works, an energy concept was drawn up to examine an energy network with renewable energy sources between two school buildings, including the indoor swimming pool. Due to the location of the real estates and the resulting low energy density for the supply network, it was decided not to connect the municipal properties in terms of energy. As a follow-up task to the energy concept, a feasibility study was carried out for a lake heating network with additional users.

Together with the client, Basler & Hofmann held discussions with potential customers, carried out profitability calculations, clarified the framework conditions with various specialist departments of the relevant authorities and examined the technical feasibility both on land and at sea. In addition, special requirements such as crossing under the railroad tracks using the flushing boron method were clarified.
