Greencity Zurich site: environmental construction support
On the site of the former Sihl-Manegg paper factory, a modern quarter with 731 apartments, 2,500 work and training places and a hotel has been created. Greencity was the first site in Switzerland to be awarded the 2,000-watt label. In a first step, all the buildings of the former paper factory were dismantled from the end of 2014 with the involvement of building pollutants experts. In a second step, contaminated site investigations and redevelopment were carried out on the entire site. After this, the new construction was realized step by step on the 13 construction sites. As environmental construction support, we anchored the environmental requirements in the invitation to tender and in the work contracts and ensured that all construction work was carried out in an environmentally friendly manner for around ten years.
