Fire engineering for Zurich Insurance headquarters

In addition to the structural renewal, the project improved the visibility, accessibility and internal networking of the building complex and the entire district, creating an environment for employees and customers in which collaboration and communication can take place in a stimulating context. With innovative comfort concepts, the project sets new standards in terms of sustainability and user well-being. We developed the fire protection concept, including the smoke and heat extraction systems, and supported the implementation through to commissioning. Among other things, we had to take into account the requirements for listed buildings and a safety concept with different access rights. The campus is also characterized by several rooms with large numbers of people and an overall high level of technology. Other special features that had to be taken into account were the double façade and the timber construction encapsulation. Special features of the concept include selective fire control, smoke protection pressure systems (RDA) and automatic extinguishing systems.
