Earthquake-resistant SBIE new construction of Winterthur police station
The new headquarters of the Winterthur city police, a vital BWK III class building, requires the highest level of earthquake-resistant design. We supported the city of Winterthur and the general planner team in developing and implementing the requirements for the secondary building components, installations and equipment (SBIE).
The Winterthur municipal police have built their new headquarters on Obermühlestrasse. Due to the vital function of the building, in particular the operations center for blue light organizations, the building is subject to the highest requirements in terms of its earthquake-resistant design. We contributed our expert witness on the earthquake resistance of secondary building components, installations and equipment (SBIE) to the project - from defining the requirements and advising on project planning through to construction as the QA officer for earthquake-resistant SBIE.
