City of Wetzikon: Investment planning for Infrastructure

The city of Wetzikon commissioned Basler & Hofmann to assess the condition of its Infrastructure and to develop an investment and project plan for the next 10 years based on this. This will enable the city to optimally coordinate its civil engineering projects with other projects such as the district heating expansion.

The town of Wetzikon has around 60 kilometers of municipal roads, the condition of which was last assessed in 2013. Around half of these are affected by the planned district heating expansion. Wetzikon needed an up-to-date overview of the condition of its infrastructure and the necessary maintenance measures over the next 10 years in order to be able to coordinate all upcoming concept designs and exploit synergies. Basler & Hofmann carried out a comprehensive survey of the condition of the roads, integrated the existing condition data of the service pipes, forecast the investment volume using the company's own Stratus Infra software and drew up a project plan with around 100 individual projects. The information is georeferenced and integrated into the municipal GIS - so that it can also be evaluated visually.
