Biosafety Expert
With a PhD in Molecular Biology, her interest in the topic of biosafety was sparked while working at Austria’s reference laboratory for animal diseases. At the same employer, she also sodann gained her initial experience as a Biosafety Officer during the planning and commissioning of the Austrian high-security laboratory for animal diseases. After over ten years in this field, Maria Fink transitioned to an international pharmaceutical company for several years as a biosafety expert. Since spring 2023, she has been providing consultancy services at Basler & Hofmann, offering her expertise to clients, laboratory operators, and specialist planners.She is a member of the European Biosafety Association, where she additionally serves as an instructor in the Education and Training Working Group. She is also a member of the Swiss Biosafety Network and the International Veterinary Biosafety Workgroup.
