Sustainability support: new replacement building Baarermatte, Baar

At Baarermatte in Baar, Canton Zug, Allreal is building a development with 110 rental apartments and 7,400 square meters of office space. The project is considered a flagship project for sustainability. In particular, a maximum of six kilograms of CO₂ equivalent per square meter of energy reference area per year is to be emitted - a very ambitious figure. Basler & Hofmann is advising and supporting the project team in achieving this goal.

Assuming a lifespan of 60 years, an average new construction today emits around 12 kilograms of CO₂ per square meter of energy reference area per year. Allreal is aiming to halve this figure for the new site in Baar. The buildings will largely be constructed using timber and a large-scale PV system will be installed. The existing three-storey office building from the 1980s will be demolished. Large parts of the dismantled building will be reused, such as columns and ceiling elements.

Basler & Hofmann is contributing its diverse expert witness to consistently pursue the targeted CO₂ reduction path. The issues range from acoustic testing for the planned clay ceilings to storage space for dismantled parts and detailed calculations.
