Niderfeld area development: mobility concept

Niderfeld in Dietikon, a central area of cantonal importance, is being developed into a lively and versatile district. Living space for 3,700 people and jobs for up to 2,700 employees are to be created here. We have developed the mobility concept for the new district.

The Niderfeld is one of the last large development areas in the Limmat Valley and Dietikon's last major settlement reserve. A high-quality, dense district is being created on around 40 hectares. The design by Amman Albers Stadtwerke envisages a central park that will give the district its own identity and the town of Dietikon a new open space. Based on the urban development concept and subsequent in-depth studies, our mobility concept lays the foundation for sustainable development of urban transportation in Niderfeld. The concept promotes sustainable transport solutions, with a focus on public transport, walking and cycling. The Limmattalbahn provides access to the area with two stations, and a dense network of paths for cycling and walking ensures good connections to the urban area. The working area is served by an independent road network to relieve the residential and mixed-use area of heavy traffic.
