Indoor air damage measurements after redevelopment
Following the redevelopment of a building, the tenants complained of health complaints such as fatigue, watery eyes, eye pain, difficulty concentrating and headaches when spending time in a conference room. Using an indoor air screening for over 100 different substances (volatile organic compounds and aldehydes) and testing the building materials for wood preservatives, we compared the measurement results with the guideline values I and II of the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) and the orientation values of the Workers' Association of Ecological Research Institutes (AGÖF). By comparing the results with the safety data sheets of the products used, we were able to identify a paint used in the redevelopment as the trigger for the complaints.
