Europaallee construction site F: vibration, structure-borne noise

The three high-rise buildings on construction site F of Europaallee have a height of up to 53 meters. Retail and office uses are planned for the common base area, while apartments were built on the upper floors. We planned the elastic building bearings. Elastomer mats decouple the building from the ground and prevent the transmission of vibrations. They protect the building from vibrations caused by the trains and - more importantly - from structure-borne noise. The bearings in the area of the three towers, where the loads are highest, were particularly challenging. These were separated from the building with extremely rigid plastic mats to minimize vibrations. A particular challenge was coordinating the elastic bearings with the combined pile and slab foundation.
