Consultancy on Biosafety and Project Management for the Institute of Virology and Immunology

The Institute of Virology and Immunology (IVI) is the Swiss reference laboratory for the diagnosis, monitoring and control of highly infectious animal diseases and, in co-operation with the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Bern, develops innovative solutions to combat viral animal diseases and zoonoses. In addition to various BSL2 laboratories, the IVI operates a high-containment facility for handling animal pathogens of risk group 4 (vetBSL4) and zoonotic pathogens (BSL3) at the Mittelhäusern site. We supported the institute's project management in serveral projects, including project coordination and biosafety consultancy by conducting audits, risk analyses and reviews as part of an extensive conversion and refurbishment project during ongoing operation.
