Marc-André Dubath

Rural Engineer ETH, MAS in Environment EPFL
Technical Director Environmental Planning

Marc-André Dubath is very well acquainted with all things underfoot: when it comes to soil protection, contaminated sites, landfill sites, geotechnical or hydrogeological issues, this rural engineer is a highly sought-after expert. The list of projects he oversees is long, and ranges from soil protection concepts to in situ renovations to dismantling former industrial sites. In his experience, the best solutions arise when all disciplines involved in a project work together from an early stage. “With this holistic approach, environmental concerns can often be addressed without too much extra effort.” Marc-André is also involved in specialist groups such as ChloroNet and trade associations like Baustoffrecycling Schweiz (for the recycling of building materials) and the Association des Géotechniciens et des Géologues Vaudois (Vaud Association of Geotechnicians and Geologists), helping to find solutions that benefit both people and the environment. He joined the Basler & Hofmann team in Lausanne as project manager in 2017. Since the beginning of 2023, he has acted as a technical director in environmental planning.

What fascinates you about your work?

Exploring the environment around us, knowing that we will never fully understand or control it, therefore having to make decisions even when things are uncertain – and sharing the joy of jointly developing innovative and forward-looking projects in the midst of all this complexity.

What makes working at Basler & Hofmann special?

There are so many talented people here – it’s the ideal environment to develop visions and projects together and to (re)create living spaces.
